Reserve Reading Assignments

I expect all of you will read:

Chapter 2, "Reflections on a grain of salt", in the book Broca's Brain by Carl Sagan.

Chapter 9 of "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" , which can be found on pages 7-11 in the book "Science and Its Ways of knowing", edited by Hatton and Plouffe.

If you want another description of critical thinking, I suggest that you read:

Chapter 3 of "Why People Believe in Weird Things" by Michael Shermer.

The Chapter called "The fine art of baloney detecting" in "The Demon-Haunted World, by Carl Sagan. (Unfortunately , the last time I checked, the library can't find this book on its shelves).

These book are available in the Reserve Reading Room located at the top of the stairs on the second floor of Pius Library.
